Chapter 205 Feng Yun's Feeling
Chapter 205 Feng Yun's Feeling
Chapter 205 Feng Yun's FeelingEarlier, it was already shown that against her with the same cultivation level, Feng Mei was superior.
Now that she had revealed her cultivation at the Peak Grand Qi Condensation Realm, Yuan Ziyan was well aware that she would lose unless she found a weakness in Feng Mei.
She fought valiantly,
Gao Mingrui, Feng Mei, Feng Yun and Ling Meiyu! One of them was going to be the winner of this prestigious competition.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting an amber glow across the tournament grounds, the anticipation for the final day of the Dragon and Phoenix Competition reached a fever pitch.
The crowd had dispersed, but the energy lingered in the air. Discussions buzzed through the streets of the city as spectators and participants alike speculated about the climactic battles to come.
In the Feng Mansion of the capital, Feng Yun stared at the full moon, deep in his thoughts.
( Finally, tomorrow is the day! ) Tomorrow, whether it's the semi-final or the final, I'll face Ling Meiyu. Our clash feels inevitable, a thread of fate pulling us together.
My mind wandered to the past, to the days when I was still known as "trash."
Being Feng Chen's younger brother came with expectations—expectations I couldn't meet. Or so I thought. For years, I believed I lacked talent, that I was simply unworthy of the name I carried. But the truth was very different and it wasn't me who was untalented.
The ring I had worn since childhood, a keepsake I thought held sentimental value, was the very thing holding me back. It had been silently absorbing my qi all those years, leaving me unable to advance in cultivation.
During that time, the ridicule was relentless. Outsiders mocked me, and whispers followed me wherever I went.
"Is he really Feng Chen's brother?" they'd say, their words like needles piercing my heart.
I couldn't even remember our parents clearly, not the way my brother could. By the time I was old enough to form memories, they were already gone.
But even if the memories were faint, I knew the warmth they left behind. The house had been filled with light and laughter. My brother, Feng Chen, would always play with me, shielding me from the loneliness of their absence.
Then everything changed. Feng Chen became the Clan Leader, and the weight of responsibility stole him away.
I never blamed him. I understood. The sacrifices he made weren't just for the clan—they were for me too.
Perhaps that's why, even when the world called me "trash," no one in the Feng Clan dared to bully me. And then, when the truth about my cultivation came to light, when I finally realized I wasn't destined to be weak, life threw another blow.
My fiancée came to break our engagement.
I didn't even know who this Ling Meiyu was and didn't care whether she the peerless genius or not.
I didn't even care if she broke her engagement as it was made by my parents not me.
But what I don't like is how she disrespected our Feng Clan, especially my brother and chose his birthday as the day to cancel our engagement in front of many guests, including our enemies.
It brought great shame to my brother, whom I respected the most and could also be equivalent to bringing disaster to our Feng Clan.
Though the Feng Clan survived thanks to my brother's incredible abilities, it didn't mean Ling Meiyu's actions hadn't affected us.
If we had been even slightly weaker, both the Feng Clan and my brother could have been utterly destroyed.
"Three years of promise, tomorrow will be the end of it!"
Feng Yun muttered.
Just then, he sensed someone coming but he wasn't too worried.
"Yun'er!"
It was his brother Feng Chen.
"Yes, brother? What brings you here at this hour?"
Feng Yun asked curiously.
"Tomorrow is the day!"
"Yes, it is!"
"How confident are you in winning?"
Feng Chen asked.
"100 percent. There is no way that I will lose. I have trained very hard for these past three years just for this day!"
Feng Yun said.
Feng Chen nodded. Although he also wasn't 100% certain whether Feng Yun could win against Ling Meiyu, it is true that he has managed to catch up to Ling Meiyu's cultivation in mere three years.
It wouldn't have been possible just because of talent.
Feng Chen walked over, his steps steady and measured, before coming to stand beside Feng Yun. Together, they gazed at the full moon, its silvery light casting a serene glow over the Feng Mansion.
The two brothers stood in silence for a moment, the weight of tomorrow's battle lingering in the air. Finally, Feng Chen broke the stillness, his voice calm but laced with curiosity.
"Yun'er," he began, his gaze fixed on the moon, "do you resent Ling Meiyu?"
Feng Yun was quiet for a moment, his eyes narrowing slightly as memories of the past resurfaced. He clenched his fists unconsciously, but his tone was measured when he spoke.
"Resent her?" Feng Yun repeated, as though testing the weight of the word. "I don't know if resentment is the right term, Brother. Do I dislike her? Absolutely. Her actions brought shame to you, to our clan. She chose your birthday—a day that should have been a celebration—to humiliate us in front of allies and enemies alike. That's not something I can forgive easily even if she were to die."
He paused, his gaze sharpening as he continued. "Or so I thought!"
Feng Yun looked at the moon and then to his brother, who looked at him with warmth and care.
"But now, I don't know!"
