Chapter 254 Top Daydreamer of the Forgotten Realm
Chapter 254 Top Daydreamer of the Forgotten Realm
Chapter 254 Top Daydreamer of the Forgotten Realm
Mordy wasn't surprised to receive Lillian's reply; he had already considered this possibility.
Each male succubus is extremely rare and destroyed after use. Even a powerful family like the Elonesia family would not let them go easily.
That succubus queen has no reason to let him go.
Modi tapped his fingers unconsciously on the armrest as he began to ponder how to deal with Lillian.
Letting her go directly is out of the question; I promised Rost I'd get Lillian back for him... but now it seems I need to reconsider how to proceed.
It seems highly likely that Rost was bewitched by Lillian, otherwise he wouldn't be unaware of her true gender.
The only question is whether Rost will continue to be a sycophant after learning the truth.
A leopard can't change its spots, and he might be the same way. I shouldn't have too high expectations of him.
Mordy had made up his mind to tell Rost the truth first, then cast a few healing spells on him to try and remove his charm status.
If he remains obstinate, he will surely incur the wrath of the Succubus Queen, a figure of no less power than the Death Curse Monarch. If she were to come knocking on his door, Mordy would not protect him.
A flurry of thoughts flashed through his mind, and Mordy turned his gaze back to Lillian.
After being struck, the succubus became much more docile and dared not make any more moves. Perhaps it was the blood flames around her that restricted her actions, preventing her from acting freely.
Noticing the gaze directed at her from the throne, Lillian said softly, "Do you intend to use me as a bargaining chip, like the Cursed Lord?"
"A bargaining chip?" Mordy didn't deny it; instead, he nodded sincerely. "Your greatest value is indeed as a bargaining chip. That queen would probably be happy to redeem you."
No wonder the Raven Demon Lord didn't dare to lay a hand on him after capturing him.
Not only does she have the Eloni family as her protector, but she is also a key figure in the negotiations with the Death Curse Lord. This succubus is practically blessed with all the buffs.
"The Death Curse Lord and the Succubus Queen have been talking for so long, but they still haven't reached an agreement. What exactly are they talking about?" Mordy asked.
Lillian shook her head. "I'm not sure either, but it should be related to the war."
Following his words, Modi suddenly realized.
"The Death Curse Monarch probably wants to drag the Enchantress Realm into war, or get the Succubus Queen's help to break the current stalemate."
The Cursed Lord is entangled with several ancient immortals, and his invasion of the Middle-earth is at a standstill.
In the North, the threat of invasion was nipped in the bud, and the Blood God Cult even launched a counter-invasion.
Outside of these two areas, the invasion of the Forgotten Realm went much more smoothly, but it still encountered resistance from the local forces.
This situation is probably not what the Death Curse Monarch expected, which is why he is eager to seek external help to break the deadlock.
"That's roughly it. If you kidnap me, the Death Curse Monarch will lose his bargaining chip. Aren't you afraid he'll cause you trouble?" Lillian said gloatingly.
Modi's expression was indifferent. "That's my business, you don't need to worry about it. By the way, I'll take you to meet an old friend."
With that, he waved his hand, and before Lillian could react, she fell into the gap.
He didn't linger in the ice palace either. He put away the blood flames that filled the sky and fell into the gap, heading towards the lost territory where Rost was.
The Ice Palace returned to its desolate state, a sight the guards who came in to tidy up were not surprised by.
They were already accustomed to an offline monarchy, and even if something happened, they would usually consult with Fan Jin and others.
In the forgotten and lost land, Rost suddenly awoke from his daydreams, and some of the illusions he had dreamt of became reality.
The tower where he resided was shrouded in mystery, filled with all sorts of dreamlike creations.
A clock that has dissolved and limp, a creature that resembles both a human and a cow, a dismembered and twisted human body... each object seems to come from the most absurd dream.
"Even though my dreams can even alter reality," he muttered to himself, "I am still terrified of that Blood God. Just one message from him can drag me out of the depths of my dreams."
He didn't know when it started, but his fear of the Blood God had seeped into his bones. Even when he used his power to dream, he would often dream of that terrifying blood shadow and its retinue in the depths of his dreams.
Therefore, the area beneath his tower is filled with the Blood God's minions who have escaped from the dream world, and even he himself finds it difficult to control them.
Even now, from the top of the tower, he could feel the restlessness of the Blood God's followers. They seemed to sense their master's approach and began to frantically attack the seal beneath the earth.
"What I feared most has come to pass."
Rost sighed. He didn't know why the Blood God had suddenly come to visit, but he still got up to prepare to greet him.
Beside him, several faceless girls followed closely behind. These were also creations of his dream, called Dream Maidens, seemingly born because of his longing for Lillian.
He hadn't taken two steps when a rift flashed past him, and two figures appeared out of thin air in front of him.
One of them was dressed in red, while the other was a perfect match for the figure he longed for day and night.
"Lillian?" His heart skipped a beat, his eyes widened, and his face was filled with disbelief.
Lillian wore the same expression, but he looked at Mordy instead of Rost.
"You said you'd introduce me to an old friend, were you referring to this idiot..."
'
Realizing he had misspoke, he immediately corrected himself: "You were sent by Rost to rescue me? No, he doesn't have that much power; he couldn't possibly have commanded you."
"He can't really order me around, but he made a deal with me," Mordy said, stepping forward to stop Rost who was rushing over, and casually casting a healing spell on him.
The green aura entered Rost's body, cleansing him of all the negative influences, including Lillian's charm.
Rost felt as if he had been doused with cold water; his eager gaze vanished instantly, reason once again took over his mind, and only calmness remained in his heart.
His thoughts were no longer controlled by false love, and without even Mordi saying a word, he began to reflect on everything he had done.
"Rost, you..."
'
Before Lillian could finish speaking, Rost interrupted her: "Don't say anything yet, I'm thinking."
His gaze was deep, but his brows furrowed deeper and deeper, as he vaguely sensed a sense of incongruity in his memory.
"Are you conscious?" Mordy asked.
He adopted a completely different attitude towards Mordi, appearing extremely enthusiastic.
"Of course, great..."
"Call me Chairman Styx."
"Yes, great Chairman, I have never been so clear-headed. Your spell was so effective that I immediately realized that my soul had been tampered with."
He smiled obsequiously, a smile that Lillian found somewhat disgusting.
This was the first time Modi had ever seen this side of him. It seemed that he was truly incorrigible; even if he didn't fawn over Lillian, he would still fawn over someone else.
"Have you remembered anything now? Like, why were you captivated by him?"
The two looked at Lillian, who gave an awkward but polite smile.
Rost's smile vanished, his expression instantly turning from sunny to cloudy, and his face darkened considerably.
"I remember, of course I remember, that was the beginning of the sense of unease in my memory."
He recounted what had happened, detailing how he found Lillian, how he fell under her spell, and how she drained the resources of his domain.
"If it weren't for her, my territory wouldn't have been impoverished and weak for so long, to the point that I now have to rely on my daydreams to replenish my troops," Rost gritted his teeth.
"Don't say that. That was your salary that you voluntarily handed over. Besides, according to the laws of our fandom, I have the right to take at least half of the assets in the event of a divorce."
Lillian shrugged, completely unfazed by his murderous glare.
"You call that voluntary?" Rost was so angry that his face turned red. If it weren't for Mordy stopping him, he probably wouldn't have been able to suppress his urge to kill.
Taking another deep breath to calm himself, he asked Mordy, "What do you plan to do with her?"
"Her? No, don't get it wrong, it's him," Mordy corrected.
In the Itniti common language they use, the pronunciation of the words "he" and "she" is slightly different.
"Him?" After being reminded by Mordy, Rost noticed the blind spot and lowered his gaze slightly.
He stared at the slightly bulging part and fell silent.
He realized that he had been wrong about one thing all along.
Perhaps tonight, in his daydreams, he will dream of some bad things.
"I hope those ghostly things from my dreams don't come to reality," the eight-foot-tall Forgotten Lord muttered, remaining rooted to the ground, motionless.
Modi could tell that he had become withdrawn due to the series of setbacks, so he suggested, "How about I handle him?"
"That's how it should be. You don't need to ask for my opinion." Roth nodded, no longer paying attention to the succubus that had once occupied his heart.
Upon hearing this, Lillian was about to speak when a large hand pressed down on her head, and everything went black.
As Mordi stuffed the succubus into the crevice and was about to leave, the entire tower suddenly shook, and a large amount of brutal energy surged out.
Something is heading their way.
Under the cover of brutal aura, Rost's expression changed drastically, but Mordy did not feel any discomfort. On the contrary, he felt a sense of familiarity from these auras.
"These are...my family members?"
Modi squinted, scrutinizing the crimson horde that burst through the ground and surged up from below.
Most of them are hideous in appearance, with superfluous limbs of unknown purpose, looking like mutated species that have failed in their evolution.
When they were only a dozen meters away from Modi, the crimson beasts stopped and knelt down in unison, as if they were paying homage to their king.
"I need an explanation." He glanced at Rost, who was sweating profusely, and already had his answer in mind.
As Rost stated, these deformed creatures were all born from fantasies and were creations of his authority.
Perhaps born out of fear of the Blood God, the Crimson Beasts were not under his control and might even harm him, so he imprisoned them at the bottom of the tower.
"Just as I thought, I didn't expect you to be so afraid of me."
Modi's eyes were strange. He wondered how someone could be so afraid of him that they dreamed about him. He was such a kind person.
He subconsciously overlooked certain aspects and instead began to consider how to deal with his... retinue.
"Let's pack it up and take it with us."
With a flick of his sleeve, Modi caused the crimson beasts that were lying prostrate on the ground to vanish without a trace.
Before leaving, he instructed Rost: "If you come up with any more weird stuff, send it to the Blood Cult. I believe it has some value... Oh, and keep this safe."
Modi tossed him three rings and vanished from the spot, leaving only the lingering echo.
"If you're interested, you can check out the Ring Index. You can even create something so abstract; you might qualify as a master."
Rost stared at the three rings in his hand until the words had completely faded away before he came to his senses.
"Does this mean I've infiltrated the Blood God Cult?"
He noticed the large crater in the ground, shook his head, and decided to put it aside for the time being.
Lillian has drained most of the resources of the Lost Realm, and he still has to seize the time to daydream and rely on the power of fantasy to pay off his debts.
Upon returning to the North, Mordi immediately released the Crimson Beasts and arranged for professionals within the cult to settle them.
These ghostly things are essentially a mass of imaginary power, but because they have intersected so deeply with his Styx pathway, they willingly obey his commands.
Once they arrived in the North, they were quite well-behaved, unlike how restless they were in the tower.
"I wonder if this daydreamer, Rost, can even support the territory's expenses by just dreaming?"
After thinking for a moment, Mordy summoned people from Styx Corporation and asked them to send a batch of supplies to the Lost Realm in the company's name.
"Also, send a secret message to Meimi Domain, telling that queen that the bargaining chips have fallen into the company's hands."
Kidnapping Lillian would serve two purposes: first, it would prevent the Death Curse Lord from finding allies; second, it would allow them to take the opportunity to extort money from the Succubus Queen.
That succubus queen has extensive connections and must have saved a lot of money on the side; she probably wouldn't mind if he asked for a sum of money for military expenses.
Shortly after the secret message was sent, Styx received a reply, and the two agreed to meet in a dying dimension.
"Why make it so mysterious to conduct transactions in the void?"
Mordy glanced at Lillian, who was still locked in the crevice, without any pity or sympathy.
He didn't want to end up like Rost, having his family fortune drained while also bearing the risk of losing half of his territory after a divorce.
In the void, in a dimension on the verge of destruction, a crack suddenly appeared in the air, causing the already unstable space to surge with undercurrents.
The saying "a single hair can affect the whole body" best describes this dimension.
In the misaligned space, Modi saw the cross-section of his internal organs once again. With just a slight movement, the misaligned spatial fragments would allow him to experience what it felt like for internal organs to become external filth.
Just as he was admiring the inner workings of his body with interest, another spatial fluctuation appeared not far away.
Although faint, it still disrupted Modi's spatial arrangement when it reached him.
The individual fragments undergo minute displacements, crush each other, and trigger a chain reaction.
At this moment, these misaligned fragments are the sharpest blades, enough to shred most of what's inside.
Modi glanced at the bleeding body, then calmly threw the internal organs back inside, and reattached his own limbs as well.
After he finished, he dusted off his clothes and looked at the newcomer.
Leading the group was a large succubus dressed in very little clothing. Compared to her, Lillian looked like a child mercilessly run over by a cart in the Eight-Foot Lady series.
