Not two minutes after the door closed, it opened from the inside. Xu Su poked her head out.
Shen Chen was slouching against the wall, waiting. Seeing her emerge so soon, he instantly shot up straight and asked nervously, "How did it go?"
Anyone watching would have mistaken him for the father of the baby she might be carrying.

"Well, you should probably think about it," Shen Chen said with a chuckle. "You dodged a bullet this time, but you might not be so lucky next time."
"..." Xu Su turned to glare at him. "Don’t jinx it!"
"I’m not jinxing anything. You two are young and healthy. Isn’t it perfectly normal for accidents to happen?" Shen Chen seemed determined to scare her. "It might not happen the first or second time, but if you keep playing with fire..."
"There won’t be any accidents!" Xu Su cut him off decisively. "Zhou Mochen always uses protection. How could there be an accident!"
"If that’s the case, then why were you panicking earlier?" The corners of Shen Chen’s mouth tightened, his tone turning icy. "It’s because you know it yourself, don’t you? The whole reason they’re called ’accidents’ is because they happen even when you take precautions."

They even talked about organizing some other group activities.
The chat was buzzing with activity. Even the elusive Si Xuan, who rarely ever showed his face, was chiming in from time to time.
Xu Su scrolled through the chat history. Feeling a strong sense of belonging with the Qingxuan Sect, she couldn’t resist jumping into the conversation.
