Chapter 2877 Why Does My Wife Follow Me Every Day? 37
During the two days that Jin Chen was away on his business trip, Yun Jian barely slept. He led Tan Quan and a few trusted confidants to drag out and clean up those remaining villains one by one.
Even so, her contact with Jin Chen never ceased.
Yun Jian would send messages from time to time, sometimes complaining about how stubborn the senior old guys were, but more often he would act coquettishly.
-What are you doing?
I miss you. Have you eaten?
It's so cold sleeping alone.
- I've cooked too much soup since you weren't here. I miss you so much.
Jin Chen always responded promptly, and occasionally he would tease him in the video, making the little rabbit on the other side of the screen blush and scold him.
On the final day, the summit entered its closing ceremony.
The lengthy process made Jin Chen feel extremely bored.
He glanced at the time and figured he could probably go home early tonight without having to wait until tomorrow, so he sent a message to Yun Jian.
-The closing ceremony was a bit boring, so I came back early and should arrive around evening.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, in a dilapidated alleyway where an abandoned factory intersects with an old residential area.
Yun Jian finally caught the last group of people.
They were three high-level orcs, quite powerful, but they were no match for Yun Jian. They were forced to kneel on the ground, trembling, by Yun Jian's oppressive aura.
Yun Jian stood before them, his black trench coat stained with the blood of these men, the stains unusually thick.
These guys not only attempted to steal a batch of important supplies from Area A, but also, in desperation when they were arrested, tried to harm Jin Chen, who was attending a summit in the neighboring city.
"Boss Yun! Spare us! We'll never do it again! It was...it was the remnants of the B District who instigated us!"
Before Yun Jian could speak, Tan Quan suddenly leaned over and said, "Boss Yun, your call is from Jin Chen!"
Yun Jian paused, all the coldness and gloom on his face vanished, and he raised his hand to signal for silence.
Tan Quan understood, and he and several of his subordinates held down the other two orcs to ensure they wouldn't make a sound.
Yun Jian pressed the answer button, her voice becoming gentle and soft.
"Jinchen."
On the other end of the phone, Jin Chen seemed to say something.
Yun Jian smiled, her eyes crinkling, and said naturally, "Ah, I was just wrapping a large bouquet of flowers for a guest's wedding. I was so busy that I didn't see the message, and my phone was on silent."
As he spoke, he lowered his eyes and looked at the three orcs still trembling on the ground.
Then, Yun Jian raised his foot and stepped on one of the people's faces.
The sole of the shoe stepped on the other person's face, slowly rubbing against the ground.
"Are you coming back early? That's great!"
The orc tried to struggle, but was held down firmly by Yun Jian's oppressive aura, unable to move even a finger.
Yun Jian's tone was gentle and cheerful, "Okay, then I'll cook dinner and wait for you to come back."
On the other end of the phone, Jin Chen seemed to say something, and Yun Jian's smile deepened. He whispered a few more intimate words into the phone, which made even the less composed subordinates get goosebumps all over their bodies.
After a moment, Yun Jian reluctantly hung up the phone and tossed it back to Tan Quan.
He pulled his foot back, and the orc was already dead.
"Mr. Yun, what should we do with the rest of the people?" the subordinate asked.
Yun Jian lowered his eyes and glanced at them. "Take them back to Area A and use them as punching bags for the new thugs."
"Yes," the subordinate replied, and immediately ordered the man to be dragged away.
Yun Jian then looked at Tan Quan, "Go buy some groceries. Go to the market and buy the freshest sea bass, ribs, and the things Jin Chen likes, you know."
Tan Quan: "...Okay."
He scratched his head, turned and left, but after a few steps, he couldn't help but look back.
Yun Jian remained standing there, slowly taking out a handkerchief from his pocket and wiping the bloodstains off his hands.
The light of the setting sun fell on him, but it could not warm the cold killing intent emanating from him.
Tan Quan quickly took out his phone and replied to Jin Chen.
- Boss Yun is fine, but it looks like he got a cut on his lower back, though I didn't see it clearly.
After sending the orders, Tan Quan dashed out of the alley to carry out his grocery shopping mission.
Back at the flower shop, Yun Jian immediately went upstairs, took a shower to wash away all the blood and dust, and changed into clean, soft loungewear.
He hummed a song as he walked into the kitchen and began preparing dinner.
Jin Chen skillfully chopped the vegetables, cooked them, and seasoned them, everything was done in an orderly manner, and the kitchen was soon filled with a delicious aroma.
While cooking, Yun Jian kept glancing at the clock on the wall.
Jin Chen said he would be back early... He should be here soon, right?
Just then, I heard the sound of a door opening downstairs.
Yun Jian's eyes lit up. He immediately turned off the stove, took off his apron and casually draped it over the back of the chair. Without even wiping his hands, he quickly ran out of the kitchen.
Jin Chen just pushed the door open and came in, carrying a suitcase.
"You're back!" Yun Jian rushed over happily, buried her face in his shoulder, and hugged his waist tightly. "I missed you so much."
Jin Chen put down her suitcase, hugged him back, and gently patted his back.
"I miss you too," Jin Chen said, her voice tinged with laughter, as she casually touched Yun Jian's lower back.
"What delicious food did you make? It smells so good."
Yun Jian looked up and said, "These are all your favorites. Go wash your hands, we'll be eating soon."
