Chapter 29 Accident
Chapter 29 Accident
Luo Xu had a dream that was both absurd and real.
He lay in the desert, the sand beneath him a deep reddish-brown. He didn't know why he was there, only that he was very thirsty.
Suddenly, a deer appeared ahead, its head tilted, its deep green eyes filled with tranquility.
The deer stopped in front of Luo Xu, lowered its head, and touched his lips to his mouth.
It's very soft and has a damp, cool feel.
A drop of water seeped from between its lips, moistening Luo Xu's parched mouth, and then more water.
Luo Xu closed his eyes and swallowed greedily.
But the deer's movements suddenly changed.
It covered his entire lips with its own, then took his lower lip in its mouth and gently sucked on it, followed by his upper lip...
The feeling was so real that Luo Xu's consciousness quickly returned to his body, and he slowly opened his eyes.
What a strange dream.
Recalling everything in the dream, Luo Xu felt it was all incredibly strange.
He suddenly felt a dampness on his lips and subconsciously rubbed the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand.
Looking at the water stains on the back of his hand, Luo Xu tensed up in embarrassment.
I found myself drooling.
He quickly wiped the drool from his lips and then turned his head to see if Sarah was awake.
Fortunately, she was sitting on the bed with her head turned to the side and her eyes closed; she must have already fallen asleep.
Luo Xu did not notice the blush on Sarah's face; he sat up gently.
Sarah then opened her eyes and yawned sleepily.
"Did I wake you up?" Luo Xu asked.
"No," Sarah shook her head. "I slept for a while too."
Suddenly, a series of hurried footsteps echoed down the corridor.
"Sarah." It was Sarah's mother's voice.
Sarah froze, her deep green eyes now filled with panic.
The blush on her face hadn't faded yet. If her mother were to push open the door and find Luo Xu in her room, regardless of whether they had done anything, her mother wouldn't believe it.
"Get under the covers quickly." Sarah didn't hesitate, whispering the words before swiftly untying the thin drawstring from her collar to her waist.
Luo Xu paused for a moment, then rolled over and hid under the covers. He curled up, trying to minimize his size.
But he didn't understand why Sarah reacted so strongly. They hadn't done anything wrong; couldn't they just explain?
Sarah's pajamas slipped off her shoulders, revealing a thin linen underskirt that was short enough to just cover her thighs.
She grabbed her pajamas and threw them onto the blanket, while simultaneously using her left knee to support herself under the blanket and block Luo Xu's figure. Then, she reached her left hand under the blanket, pressed down on the back of Luo Xu's head, and pulled his head closer to her side.
The footsteps stopped outside the door.
"I'm changing, Mom." Sarah's voice was as calm as usual, but her left hand, which was holding Luo Xu, was trembling slightly.
"Have you seen Luo Xu? I don't see him in the guest room. Your father needs to see him." The door was opened a crack, and Sarah's mother peeked inside.
"I didn't see him, he should have gone out by now." Sarah looked down and straightened her inner skirt, as if she had just put it on.
Sarah's mother did not leave immediately, but began to explain some things to Sarah.
Luo Xu, lying under the covers, gritted his teeth, trying to keep his breathing steady.
His face was pressed against the outside of Sarah's left thigh, separated only by a thin inner skirt. He could clearly feel the warmth of Sarah's skin and the slight tension in her body.
Luo Xu tried to move back a little, but Sarah pressed him back down. Her knees suddenly pulled inward a bit, and Luo Xu slid in unexpectedly.
Sarah's heart skipped a beat.
She originally just wanted to hide Luo Xu even more deeply, without thinking too much about it.
Sarah awkwardly tried to let go, but this was the only way to completely block Luo Xu's figure. She didn't dare to think about where he had touched her, so she just bit her lip and pressed down hard on the head that wanted to shrink back.
She and Luo Xu had just established a romantic relationship today, and she absolutely couldn't let her mother ruin it.
"Sarah, there might be a bonfire party in the village tonight. Your foot isn't healed yet, so you shouldn't go."
"Well, then I'll stay in...the room." Sarah paused abruptly halfway through her sentence.
Luo Xu's breath sprayed onto her skirt, feeling somewhat hot.
Sarah quickly lowered her head to hide the blush on her face, and unconsciously tightened her grip on Luo Xu's hair.
Sarah's mother didn't notice anything amiss, assuming she was just hesitating. After giving her a brief instruction, she closed the door and left.
The footsteps gradually faded into the distance.
Sarah didn't let Luo Xu out immediately, but just stared at the closed door.
When she sensed Luo Xu trying to get out of bed, she quickly whispered, "Wait a little longer. I'm afraid my mother might come back."
Luo Xu responded sullenly, not daring to move, gritting his teeth to stop himself from having wild thoughts.
Sarah stared at the closed door and waited a moment longer. The corridor was completely quiet, with only the occasional sound of servants' footsteps coming from the courtyard.
She glanced down at the bulge under the covers, the blush on her face still lingering.
"Alright, come out now."
Luo Xu peeked out from under the covers.
The two exchanged a glance, neither of them mentioning what had just happened.
Luo Xu stood up and rubbed his scalp, which had become numb from being gripped so tightly.
"I'm going back now."
"Yes, be careful when you go out," Sarah said. "Don't let my mother see you."
Luo Xu nodded, walked to the door, and gently opened it.
There was no one in the corridor.
He glanced back at Sarah, who was already wearing the wool pajamas and was adjusting her cuffs.
Although she appeared calm, her ears were still red.
Luo Xu closed the door without making a loud noise.
He returned to his room and closed the door.
His weapons were neatly arranged on the table, and his bedding was pulled out flat.
Luo Xu lay down on the bed, staring at the ceiling as he began to savor what had just happened.
As he was lost in thought, he suddenly remembered his previous dream.
I encountered a deer in the desert that could spit out water, and it even forcibly kissed me...
Luo Xu closed his eyes, forcing himself to stop thinking about that absurd dream.
Exhaustion washed over him, and he fell asleep soon after.
When I woke up again, sunlight streamed in through the window and fell on the edge of the bed.
The room was so bright it was almost blinding.
Luo Xu slowly sat up, most of his fatigue gone. He rubbed his sleepy eyes and walked to the window to look outside.
It was already afternoon.
Luo Xu pushed open the door and entered the corridor.
Sarah's room door was closed; she must still be sleeping.
Luo Xu went downstairs.
The hall was brightly lit, and Galon was sitting at a long table with a half-empty glass of ale beside him.
He was flipping through an account book, as if waiting for someone.
Hearing footsteps on the stairs, Galon looked up.
"Awake?" He closed the ledger, nodded to Luo Xu, "Perfect timing, I have something to discuss with you."
