Chapter 999 - 997: Awakening (Part 2)
Chapter 999 - 997: Awakening (Part 2)
Stim hurriedly ran toward the academy hall, as Dean Hoffman had instructed him to report any unusual occurrences immediately.
Dean Hoffman had been staying in the academy hall for the past few days, along with Governor Rostov and others. They were discussing something unknown to him and had been in that hall the entire time.
When Stim arrived there, Dean Hoffman was dozing off, while Governor Rostov and the others were still in a heated discussion...
Stim knew that rushing over like this was impolite, but he had no choice—someone had simply disappeared, and no matter how hard he thought about it, he couldn’t understand it!
This should count as a significant matter!
That’s why he needed to let Dean Hoffman know!
Stim appeared in the hall, gasping for breath, and the League Guards did not stop such a frantic scholar. After all, Dean Hoffman had advised against stopping any scholars of the academy...
Governor Rostov stared blankly at Stim, "Did that young man wake up?"
Stim was still gasping for air...
"Did he really wake up? What did he say?" Perkins asked curiously.
Stim continued to gasp...
"What’s going on with Igor?" Hustace was also anxious, having waited for so long, yet this senior hadn’t said a word—just kept gasping.
"Let him catch his breath," Governor Rostov told the others who were anxious. Being in a hurry wouldn’t solve anything.
After a while, Stim finally calmed himself, "Lord Governor, Dean, something’s wrong!"
"What happened? Speak slowly, don’t rush." Dean Hoffman remained calm, not a hint of surprise on his face.
"That, that Igor, he, he disappeared!"
"Disappeared!" Hustace was quite astonished.
"How could he disappear?" Perkins also found it very strange.
Only Dean Hoffman remained composed, asking unhurriedly, "You’ve stayed in the office all these days, haven’t you?"
"No, I haven’t." Stim shook his head like a rattle-drum; these past days he stayed in the dean’s office for everything—eating, drinking, and other needs—completely as instructed by the dean, and now he felt like there was some smell on him...
"Alright then, you can rest for a while, and then you can spend some time in my library, Stim," Dean Hoffman said.
"But, but Dean..." Stim protested.
"Don’t worry, Igor hasn’t disappeared; he just hid himself after awakening. This guy learned the Stealth Ability in an instant. No wonder Hunter Kadi kept mentioning this young man around me, turns out he really has that talent!"
Dean Hoffman’s words left everyone bewildered, not quite understanding. Igor was clearly missing, so why did Dean Hoffman act like there was nothing wrong?
Stim wanted to say more, but Dean Hoffman dismissed him.
"What is really going on, Dean?" Perkins first asked.
"Igor, that child, is naturally independent. He doesn’t like being cared for by others," Dean Hoffman explained. He understood Igor well, being the dean, and everyone in the academy was familiar with Igor.
"You mean, he’s shy?" Perkins couldn’t help but laugh.
"Yes, this child never lets others help him," Dean Hoffman said with a chuckle.
At that moment, in the basement of the dean’s office, Igor was trying hard to stand up.
He had lain on the Ice Bed for so long that his body was numb... an Ice Bed really wasn’t comfortable to lie on.
Igor understood that someone must have been taking care of him as he lay there, so when he heard footsteps coming from above, he quickly hid himself. This skill was not something he was initially good at; he had learned it by accident in the Border Realm.
The Border Realm. Thinking of that place made Igor recall Tobin Sol!
Now that he was awake, what about Tobin Sol? Is he awake as well?
But why was he lying on this Ice Bed? It didn’t make sense!
What on earth had happened? Could everything that happened in the Border Realm be just a dream?
He didn’t believe it. After experiencing so much, the Border Realm must be real; it couldn’t be just a dream.
Everything would only become clear after seeing Sol!
Igor slowly adapted to the real world again. His physical abilities gradually recovered; even though he was still a little shaky standing up, he managed to do it.
He thought about the senior who had dashed away just now, feeling a little sorry. That person had certainly taken care of him for several days, and he didn’t even have a chance to thank him before startling him away...
He resolved to find a chance to make it up to him later! Igor was always someone who repaid kindness, just a bit embarrassed at times.
He wasn’t used to being taken care of by others, thinking he should be able to take care of himself by now. Although he knew it was impossible to completely detach from others, he still felt a bit awkward.
Especially in his current situation.
He had just awakened from the Border Realm; he had many things to digest on his own and didn’t want anyone to disturb him.
Once he figured everything out, he would certainly go back to thank the senior who had taken care of him...
Igor stood up, gasping, adjusting to the effort it took, and felt his stomach grumbling from hunger.
He wanted to find something to eat, but there was nothing here.
Perhaps meditation could help him forget his hunger.
So, Igor crossed his legs and sat on the ground, the chill of the Ice Bed making him abandon the idea of sitting on it.
Where was Sol? Had the Border Realm really disappeared? Did the events relate to the Spirits? What was that Soul Devourer Master and the Agent of Destruction that Kadi and others mentioned? Was Guru Mountain really the teleportation site, and why did the Great Mentor know nothing about these events? Who was the final voice in the Border Realm, and who were their enemies...
A series of questions welled up in Igor’s mind, making him restless...
These questions couldn’t be solved all at once; the more he thought about them, the more confused he became...
Guru Guru Guru... at that moment, his stomach embarrassingly growled again.
Indeed, he was hungry. This feeling of hunger left him with no energy for meditation!
Forget it, better find something to eat. This is Yonder Travel Academy, so he was fairly familiar with where to find food.
Thus Igor stood up shakily, making his way upward; he was simply too hungry, making everything he did require extra effort...
