Chapter 1081 - 442: Targeted (2)

Chapter 1081 - 442: Targeted (2)

Upon closer inspection, there was a human seated on the bird.

Covered in sturdy armor, the white giant bird resembled an eagle, and halted before them with the flapping of its wings.

It seemed to be an entire squad of Bird Knights.

There were six in total, one of whom held a flag. On it was the emblem of the Seed of Life, with a simplified image of a flying eagle on the other side.

The figure on the bird’s back wore light armor, with a long sword at their waist. Slung across their back was a very long bow.

Two quivers hung from the side of the bird.

He jumped down, first inspecting the surrounding battlefield, immediately noticing the distinct manners of death of the three demons.

He removed his helmet.

Revealing long, slightly green hair and a pair of pointed ears poking through the strands.

She was female, with a slender and tall build.

She looked towards Chadite and his two companions who were on guard.

"Are these demons killed by you?" spoke out the language previously used by Julia.

It was the official language of the Life Sea Region.

Evidently, this was the military force from the Seed of Life.

Chadite and the others relaxed their vigilance slightly, seemingly a patrolling troop of some sort.

Chadite nodded.

"It seems they were after you, dispatching many demon squads to cause disturbances and divert our attention."

"Sorry for our late arrival. Were any of you injured?"

This knight’s attitude was quite pleasant.

Hearing this, Chadite shook his head.

"These demons weren’t enough to cause us any casualties," Chadite said. Hearing this, the female Bird Knight glanced at the nearby demons.

These demons were somewhat notorious, considered strong on the battlefield.

Seeing this, aside from the three before her, no others were visible.

Moreover, the trio bore no traces of injury, their attire remained quite tidy; clearly, the recent battle hadn’t been much of a struggle for them.

It could even be said it felt somewhat leisurely to them.

Confirming that these three were indeed powerful warriors.

"That’s good, it was our oversight."

Then she glanced at the demon behind Chadite, frozen into a crystalline form.

"If you don’t mind, could you hand over this captured demon to us? We might be able to extract some information from its mind."

Hearing this, Chadite turned to Jason and the others. Seeing them nod, she nodded too and said, "Go ahead."

This demon indeed held no significant value for them.

If not for this knight squad, they truly intended to turn the demon into an ice sculptor to provoke the Abyssal Maw.

"Thank you for your assistance, the Seed of Life will remember your kindness."

Saying this, she waved a hand to the soldiers behind her, who then dismounted the birds to begin hauling the demon sealed in crystal.

During the transport, a helmeted female soldier continuously tilted her head watching Chadite.

"Is there something you need?" Chadite sensed the gaze and asked the Female Knight.

The Female Knight was a bit stunned, unsure of what to say for a moment, while the captain who just spoke with Chadite also looked at her.

Seeing this, she finally spoke, "I think I saw her in a dream.

At that time, there were demons."

Hearing this, the team captain also turned back to carefully observe Chadite. Then suddenly understanding, as if realizing something.

Said, "May I ask, are you from the Compass Eye Treasure Hunting Team?" Hearing this, Chadite did not hide and nodded in agreement.

"Ah, so it’s you. It seems this demon squad came from the Abyssal Maw, targeting you specifically."

Apparently, she recognized Chadite and the others, even aware of some of their feud with the Abyssal Maw.

"How come you know us? We shouldn’t be that famous yet." Jason curiously asked.

Evidently, this knight squad not only knew their team name but was also aware of their feud with the Abyssal Maw.

Just after speaking, he seemed to have realized something because the Female Knight just mentioned a dream.

"We have dreamt about you defeating the Abyssal Maw’s scheme outside the island, making him miserable.

A few years ago, we often dreamt of it.

Additionally, according to the captain and the High Priest, this matter should be true.

So did you indeed thwart the Abyssal Maw’s plot in the Dream Realm, making him look like a fool?"

Upon saying this, the captain’s tone was somewhat curious, yet slightly excited.

Chadite nodded, as this indeed wasn’t a matter worth concealing.

They now realized why the Abyssal Maw harbored such deep hatred towards them. Even ordinary knights were aware of this in their dreams, clearly showing it was widely known around here.

On the frontline battlefield, the Abyssal Maw would inevitably appear from time to time. In such scenarios, the opposition would bring up this incident to mock him, and he wouldn’t even have words to refute it.

Possibly, it’s not only opponents; even among his own kind, his teammates or subordinates might secretly mock him in some ways.

In this situation, only personally finishing off Alka, taking their heads and souls, could refute the insults aimed at him.
