Infinite Slaughter System: I Kill, Therefore I Ascend!

Chapter 236: The Birth of Demon Emperor Li Ling! 2

Chapter 236: The Birth of Demon Emperor Li Ling! 2

As the seventy powerhouses looked down upon him, the six-colored wheel above Li Ling descended slightly."From this day forth, his status shall no longer be that of an ordinary disciple," Ming Yue declared, waving his hand grandly as the wheel pulsed with power.

The scarlet segment of the wheel brightened.

"He shall belong to the Asura Blood Path, but shall stand beneath the authority of the Sect Master directly."

The golden-white segment brightened.

"He shall possess the right to enter the upper layer, study the inheritances appropriate to his rank, establish his own faction, gather followers, command lesser disciples, and act in the name of the sect where his authority permits."

The black-white segment brightened.

"He shall enjoy the sect’s protection, but also bear the sect’s scrutiny."

The dark-violet segment brightened.

"He shall inherit benefit, but also obligation."

The pale-blue segment brightened.

"He shall take from the sect, but must one day feed the sect in return."

The green-gold segment brightened.

"He shall grow as a monster of our Six Paths, and whether he becomes blade, pillar, calamity, or emperor shall depend on his own Dao."

Ming Yue’s lips curled into a smile.

"Li Ling, do you accept?"

Li Ling looked up at Ming Yue, then at the six-colored wheel hovering above him.

For a moment, the hall was silent.

Then he laughed softly.

"I accept," Li Ling responded with curved lips.

Simple and direct without false humility.

Ming Yue nodded.

"Then kneel," Ming Yue demanded with a glint in his eyes.

Li Ling’s eyebrow moved slightly, and the atmosphere in the hall changed in a nearly invisible way as many gazes sharpened.

This was the moment everyone had quietly been waiting for.

Li Ling’s arrogance, madness, and refusal to obey normal logic were already famous.

Some wondered whether he would even kneel in a formal discipleship ceremony before Ming Yue himself.

After all, kneeling in a demonic sect was not merely etiquette, it was acknowledgment of hierarchy.

It was admitting that, at least for now, someone stood above you.

Li Ling looked at Ming Yue for a brief second, then smiled faintly.

He knelt on one knee, but not both.

His right knee touched the ground while his left remained raised, his back straight and his head lifted.

It was not the kneeling posture of a slave, nor was it even the proper kneeling posture of a disciple to their master.

It was the posture of a warlord acknowledging an emperor, while silently declaring that one day, he too would sit upon a throne.

A few of the Grand Elders narrowed their eyes, for this was pushing the boundaries of the sect’s rules to the limit!

Ming Yue, however, only laughed.

"Good!"

He lifted his hand, and the six-colored wheel above Li Ling descended fully, passing through his body like an illusion.

For a moment, Li Ling felt six different brands burn into the depths of his existence, not on his flesh, not on his soul, but on his sect identity.

The Ancestral Hall trembled as the wheel behind Ming Yue shone brightly.

And from somewhere deeper than the hall, perhaps from the very foundation of the Six Paths Demon Sect itself, an ancient bell rang once.

DONG!

The sound passed through Li Ling’s flesh.

DONG!

It passed through his blood.

DONG!

It passed through his mind, soul, spirit, and karma.

Three tolls.

When the sound faded, Ming Yue spoke with finality.

"Rise, Demon Emperor Li Ling!"

Li Ling rose slowly.

At that moment, the ceremony was complete.

He was no longer merely Li Ling, champion of the lower-layer tournament.

He was now the Fifth Personal Disciple of Ming Yue with the Daoist title, ’Demon Emperor’.

And just as he stood, Ming Yue pointed at him.

The Asura Blood Token within Li Ling’s body suddenly shook.

This token had followed him since he entered the sect, marking his status, recording his merits, allowing him to access certain areas, receive missions, purchase techniques, and generally function as a proper disciple of the Six Paths Demon Sect.

Now, under Ming Yue’s casual finger, it dissolved and melted into Li Ling’s blood like a drop of ink entering water, spreading through his meridians, sinking into his heart, and then condensing again within a single drop of heart blood.

Immediately, a new token formed there.

It was no longer a physical object, nor was it merely a spiritual imprint, but a Dao brand.

A six-spoked wheel floated inside Li Ling’s heart blood, but the Asura Blood spoke was dominant, glowing with a deep crimson light, while the remaining five spokes were dimmer, acting more like structural supports than active powers.

A flood of information entered Li Ling’s mind, causing his eyebrows to rise slightly.

Interesting.

Very interesting.

This new token had far more functions than the previous one.

First, it granted him authority over many lower-layer and middle-layer disciples, especially those beneath his path and rank. Unless they had special backing or equivalent authority, he could command them within sect rules.

Second, it opened far greater permissions. He had access to deacon- and elder-level management powers like faction registration, residence allocation, disciple recruitment, sect merit bestowal, and even limited access to certain sealed records.

Third, it had protective functions. If he was attacked within sect territory by someone without proper authority, the token could trigger defensive formations, record evidence, summon enforcers, or even temporarily shelter his heart blood and soul imprint.

Fourth, it possessed assistive capabilities tied to the Asura Path. It could stabilize Blood Power, suppress minor backlash, guide him to suitable resources, and help him communicate with certain sect formations.

Very good!

Extremely good, in fact!

And of course, because nothing in the world was free, the thing also possessed a monitoring function so strong it was almost funny.

Li Ling could feel it clearly.

This token could track his location within sect territory, record major uses of unauthorized power, monitor whether he betrayed certain core sect laws, and if an order came from someone with enough authority, it could suppress or even abolish his Asura Path cultivation through the connection it had just formed with his heart blood.

Theoretically, anyway.

Li Ling almost laughed.

Abolish his cultivation?

What a terrifying punishment!

Really, he was practically shaking in his boots, haha!

After all, if they destroyed his cultivation a hundred times, he could simply recover it a hundred and one times as long as he had enough Slaughter Points.

The only real danger was if they could suppress the Infinite Slaughter System itself, and Li Ling doubted that even this impressive sect token had such a function.

Still, he did not resist the token.

For one, resisting it here would be foolish.

For another, the benefits currently outweighed the risks.

And most importantly, it was not a bad thing to let the Six Paths Demon Sect believe they had placed a leash around his neck.

Sometimes, the easiest way to make someone relax was to let them hold a rope they believed was tied to you.

Ming Yue seemed to notice the faint amusement in Li Ling’s eyes, and his own smile deepened slightly, though he said nothing.

Then, he pointed again.

This time, Li Ling’s robes disintegrated.

They did not tear apart nor burn away, but dissolved into motes of white and gold light, leaving his body momentarily covered only by a thin layer of blood-red spiritual radiance.

In the next instant, new robes formed over him.

They were still based on the standard white-and-gold style of the Six Paths Demon Sect, but the gold had been almost entirely replaced by deep crimson.

The inner robe was white, clean, and sharp, fitting close to his body without restricting movement.

Over it hung a long outer robe of white fabric edged with blood-red seams, the hem darkening gradually into crimson as if it had been dipped in a battlefield and allowed to dry elegantly.

At the back of the robe was the six-spoked wheel of the sect, but unlike the usual balanced version, the Asura Blood spoke extended downward like a spear, piercing through a stylized black sun.

Around his cuffs were small embroidered patterns of blood drops turning into stars, while the collar rose slightly in a way that framed his face and made his already handsome appearance seem colder and more imperious.

A narrow crimson sash wrapped around his waist, holding his robe together, and upon it hung a small black jade ornament shaped like a skull with six horns.

The shoulders bore no armor, but the fabric there was thicker and slightly raised, giving him the silhouette of someone who could attend a court meeting and then immediately walk into a massacre without changing clothes.

Most importantly, the robe had what Li Ling liked to call ’aura’.

The moment it settled on him, Li Ling looked less like a talented disciple who had been dressed up by a sect and more like a young demonic emperor who had temporarily agreed to wear the sect’s colors.

White for the Six Paths, red for slaughter, and black for the abyss beneath his feet.

Li Ling looked down at himself and nodded slightly.

Not bad!

At least whoever designed this thing understood that he was not the type to walk around wearing ten pounds of jewelry like a mobile treasure chest.

Simple was best.

Simple, sharp, and oppressive.

Ming Yue lowered his hand.

"From this day forward, those robes shall be your formal disciple attire. They will adjust with your cultivation and status, and unless destroyed by a force far above their grade, they will recover through your token."

Li Ling cupped his fists. "Many thanks, Master."

Master, huh?

The word sounded natural enough when it left his mouth, but internally, Li Ling found it somewhat amusing.

In both lives, he had never truly had a master.

Teachers, yes.

Superiors, yes.

Clients, bosses, elders, lecturers, seniors, and irritating people with authority, definitely.

But a master?

This was the first.

Ming Yue seemed satisfied, then turned his gaze slightly.

"Come forth."

The moment he said this, four figures rose from different parts of the hall, and they had not been seated among the ordinary True Inheritor seats.

Rather, they had sat closer to Ming Yue’s central throne, on four smaller platforms arranged below his own, each one positioned in a different direction like stars orbiting a moon.

These were not Grand Elders, nor were they ordinary True Inheritors.

No, these fellows were Ming Yue’s other personal disciples, Li Ling’s new senior brothers and sisters!
